Microsoft Software and Systems Academy
- Australia (MSSA-AsiaPacific) Offerings

MSSA-AsiaPacific is a full-time, 17-week, funded technical training program that incorporates live instruction, hands-on virtual labs, real-life application scenarios, and opportunities for certifications to prepare transitioning service members and former serving/already separated members for challenging tech jobs in any industry.

MSSA-AsiaPacific (APAC) is designed to facilitate instruction in the Japan Standard Time (JST) time zone for US service members serving in the Asia-Pacific region, with the opportunity to extend this offering to our partners and allies within the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

MSSA-AsiaPacific is open to:
• Transitioning ADF Service Members
• Former Serving ADF Members
• US Transitioning Service Members within 180-days of end of service at program start 
• US Guard and Reserve Members
• US Veterans

Successful completion of MSSA-AsiaPacific results in a pathway towards Microsoft certification and a job interview with Microsoft (or one of its hiring partners). For the upcoming programs, MSSA-AsiaPacific specialises in Server & Cloud Administration (SCA).

In addition to technical curriculum, MSSA-AsiaPacific offers a 
variety of professional development opportunities. 
Microsoft provides students opportunities to engage with technical mentors and industry leaders in a professional and technical capacity. Microsoft also partners with MSSA-AsiaPacific students in career planning, professional skills-building (including resume writing and interview techniques), and 
job search strategies.

Former serving/already separated members must:

• Attend or view a MSSA information session at  aka.ms/MSSAvirtualbrief
• Provide one of the following certifications that align to the Server & Cloud  Administration (SCA) learning path: 

- Pearson VUE ITS: Networking
- CompTIA Security+ (Sec+)
- CompTIA Network+ (NET+)

How do I apply?

The MSSA application window is now open! Submit your application before 16 January 2023.

Transitioning ADF Service Members must:

• Provide an Interim Service Certificate
• Provide a completed AC853 Form (and, if transition date falls after the MSSA-AsiaPacific program start date, a signed Leave Form)

US Active-Duty Service Members must:

• Secure command approval to participate
• Consult DoD SkillBridge - How to Apply (usalearning.gov)  for instructions on applying for a SkillBridge program for your branch of service
• Submit one of the following:

1. Basic Individual Record (BIR)
2. Basic Training Record (BTR)
3. Transition Orders

4. Service Record Brief (SRM/ORB/ERB)
5. Leave and Earnings Statement (LES)

 

• Secure command approval to participate
• Submit one of the following:
